Occupational Therapy at home

Our occupational therapists (OTs) are qualified and registered allied health practitioners who are committed to working with you to try and enhance independence and participation in everyday activities. These may include education, work, self-care activities, being able to live independently, and participating in social and leisure activities. OTs play an important role in supporting individuals to work towards their personal goals.

Our team of caring occupational therapists will take into consideration your individual needs and unique circumstances. This means you will be able to prioritise what is important to you and work towards reaching your goals. Our occupational therapists can also work alongside other health professionals who may be part of your care team.

Our mobile OTs are experienced in providing evidence-based therapies and assessments in the home to people aged over 18. Amplar Allied Health occupational therapists are committed to:

  • Supporting people to live in their own home as independently and as safe as possible
  • Develop goals with the client to help them overcome activities they struggle with or want to be able to do better
  • Work with clients to come up with solutions that may support overall function and quality of life.

  • Functional assessments, including daily living activities (e.g. Bed assessments, eating and drinking assessments)
  • Recommending assistive living technologies or mobility equipment, including e.g. wheelchair and powered scooter assessments
  • Activities of daily living (ADL) and/or occupation-based retraining
  • Falls assessments
  • Cognitive and challenging behaviours assessments and support (e.g delivering the MOCA).

Working with Amplar Allied Health brings me purpose and meaning, knowing that although I may be one person, I am impacting my clients’ lives. I feel so proud every day to be able to work with our ageing population by encouraging my clients to reach their goals by working together and showing them all the things they CAN do!
